Native of Bisigu to contest NDC's North East Region women's organizer portfolio

Hon. Matilda Aduku, native of Bisigu in the North East Region has declared her intention to vie for the Women's organizer position of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the region. The aspirant who's a teacher by profession with 19 years of teaching experience has taught in primary, Junior high and senior high school and currently the TVET and welfare co-ordinator at the Regional Education office in North East. Hon. Matilda is a responsible married woman with 4 kids, and she's the currently communication officer for the Suguru R/C pooling station and former campaign team member for the parliamentary candidate in the 2020 elections. As part of her vision for victory 2024, she promised to equip women organizers in the region with the necessary skills to make them functional at their various branches. Hon. Matilda who's a financier of political activities in the Bisigu and Arigu communities, she assured her commitment to recognize and revitalize former women organizers of the party for agenda 2024. “Out of politics I was the a national trainer in the 2021 population and housing census and the District field supervisor of the west mamprusi municipality during the census. Mobilized 4 women groups and assisted them to access loans during the last NDC turn in government”. She told thenorthernweb.com in a statement. Hon. Matilda Adaku Vision for NDC in the North East Region. • Gender Quotas; Setting targets for female participation in party conventions. Can include separate forums for women. Will push for a national women congress. This will ensure that all regional and constituency women organizers across the country, are assembled yearly to ponder of ideas and strategies to building the women base in the party. •Political Training Programs: Mentorship, confidence building, media training and effective political campaign education to increase women’s political aspirations and efficacy despite structural obstacles in other to modeling women to become good leaders. This will be achieved through the provision of training to women candidates in such skills as fundraising, message development, media relations and communicating with voters. This will ensure women’s visibility in the campaign by providing additional media exposure through proper expressions. •Vocational Training Programs; as women organizer, there’s the need to also support the activities of the party. This will give us a big voice in decision making when it comes to leadership meeting. For this to happen, we must be financially stable. Is therefore part of my plan to bring in civil societies that are into women vocational training as well as proving grants for starters. This will serve as a source of revenue for women organizers in our region to enable them carry out activities of women related to build an interest drive for women wanting to join or belong to the NDC, as we saw in 31st December Movement. •Ensuring that women are included in all of the party’s policies; Monitoring elections, including the recruitment of women as party agents to be present at polling stations, particularly if those polling stations are allocated within our strongholds in other to complement the efforts of the men. Again, the recent party reorganization and branch elections are all activities that women can play a lead role. •Advocate for Gender-Responsive Budgeting; Women plays a very critical role in deciding the faith of election because women are the majority.
